Should I :: Shouldn't I

I started this scarf way back in September.
I chose the yarn so carefully and then missed the deadline for the intended recipients birthday.
I really set myself an unachievable goal.
 I love the yarn.
I love the pattern.
I love how it turned out.
Soft and snugly.
But I have lost confidence in making stuff to give as presents.
Especially to non-crafty type person.
I *think* she will love it.
At least love that I made it, but I'm not sure.
Do you ever feel this way about giving handmade to non-crafty type people?
Toodles...L x ♥
P.S. the Mister thinks I am nuts. He said it is perfect and she will love it.  Now does he say that because he loves me and thinks it is great or just so I will shut up about it? Hmmmm....

  1. How could she not love it? It's beautiful and I would adore it (what pattern did you use?) But I do know what you mean about giving hand crafted stuff to non crafty friends - it's like offering up a little bit of oneself and wondering how it will be received and whether that bit of you might perhaps be rejected isn't it? Non crafters have no idea of the work that goes into the smallest item and perhaps see just that item and not the love and effort it contains. But having said that she cannot but love the softness and pretty shape of the scarf.

    1. Hi Jane,
Thank your for your lovely comments. Used this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/saroyan pattern on Ravelry. It's free and called 'Saroyan' and really easy to make. I'd love to see yours if you decide to make it.

  2. It looks lovely, quickly wrap it I'm sure she will love it, have faith in your work you are a good crafter, you said yourself its turned out well. I am more apprehensive when I give to other crafters, because they are more to spot any mistakes

  3. I think Mr. is right. She will love it. And yes, I feel the same. :-)

  4. Hi Louise! This is so beautiful scarf and this time your hb is rigth but often I wonder the same - is he only polite, does he really like it or just don't have any interest to hear more. Also your new knitting bag is super! I hope you feel better and found out if you have an allergic or cold.
    Merry Christmas! x Teje
