What WAS I thinking when I bought this lace weight yarn during the Knit Picks sale online before Christmas?
Apparently I wasn't thinking or just didn't realize that lace weight yarn is so dang fine! I think the thread for my sewing machine is thicker. It took forever for Middle J (my ball winding buddy) and I to turn it from a skein into a ball.
It will take all year to finish this shawl.
Good thing I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colour!
Toodles...L x ♥
P.S. I have five more skeins, four are different two other colours....I do hope Middle J comes back for a visit soon.......
I feel the same about a ball of lace I bought some time ago. I will never finish the shawl I've started. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt will be worth it when It's done though!
ReplyDeleteI love lace weight wool and use it most of the time, hence me not having quick knitting results. But I love the feel of fine wool and needles. Those colours look the same as the socks I knitted dd for christmas. As for wool winding we used to use the back of a chair if no hands were available years ago.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the patience to use lace weight. I've seen lace weight shawls and they are really beautiful with a lovely drape to them. My 5mm crochet hook seems like kindergarten crochet by comparison.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour choice as well - just the thing for this grey time of year.
Take care,
Prim xx
