I have been....

....trying to keep busy whilst my ankle heals.  It's coming along nicely and I can take a few steps now without crutches!  I nearly cried the first time I took an actual step.  Overcoming the fear to put weight on my bum foot was the biggest challenge.  Now, with my daily exercises my ankle becomes more flexible and I am starting to feel more human again.

So, whilst waiting patiently (or not so patiently some days)
I've been...

::  loving the change of weather and my favorite tree

:: spending hours on my front porch and enjoying my red geraniums
::sending the Mister on missions to buy the perfect pumpkin
::Knitting like mad on my cardigan
::treating myself to a little vintage wind up watch from 1967 (brilliant year that one!)
::Pleading with my boys to pick the very last of the flowers from the garden before the frost comes.
::Changing things around inside so I can enjoy this fabulous embroidered tablecloth.  Bit wrinkled I know, but I think it looks fab, what do you think?  The men folk gave me that big eyed look when I asked for their opinion.
::Loving the beautiful stitches on this fabulous tablecloth.
It seems the days to ankle recovery are coming to a close and I'm excited.  There were times when I thought I'd never say good-bye to my crutches, but now it see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Fingers crossed when I see my doctor in two weeks he'll say I'm good to go!

P.S. My watch came from this awesome Etsy shop.

  1. So glad it's coming good Louise. It must be soooo frustrating to be tied to crutches! I guess you are getting some help around the house with the housework??? Now you are going into slippery weather again you'll have to be extra careful ..... but I guess I don't need to tell you that !!
