Day One :: 2014

It's been a very quiet day here for the first day of the year.  It feels good to start a new year, to me it brings promise and hope.  I have no new years resolutions, since I never keep them, other than to try and keep a smile on my face.

After my end of year blog post, digging through photos of the year before, I discovered the long lost treasure I found a year ago.  A beautiful old quilt that just needed a little love to finish it.  Today I spent the day stitching on some binding. I still have some top stitching to finish, but I wanted to remember this little accomplishment.

I love the old fabrics in the quilt, so many different patterns. I wonder who made it and when it was made. It's quite wobbly, not well pieced, not that I am criticizing since I could NEVER made something so beautiful.

I do hope your new year is off to a good start. I look forward to your visits and stopping by your blogs in 2014.

Toodles & take care....L x ♥

P.S. Blogger isn't allowing me to make the photos any bigger, only the first one, so please click on them to enlarge and enjoy these fabulous fabrics.

    The quilt is fab, so many hours of love and labour have gone into it. The bonus being, you get to enjoy it.

  4. Hi Louise what a gorgeous quilt, I am so envious. Not sure if you have the same problem as I do with photos but I have to keep putting each one on the top and then sizing it to large, then copying, cutting and pasting it into the text - quite long winded but it works for me, am sure that there is a quicker way. Loved your post as always Louise, big hugs
